Valentines-y

I love Valentine’s Day!  The colours, the chocolate, the cards the Loooove….but it wasn’t always so.  I used to dread the day when it seemed like everyone got tokens of affection from their loved ones in the entire world except me.  UGH.  What I realized a few years ago though, is that V-day is a day set aside for love of any kind, and expressing love is good!  N0w I bake for my family, and do little special things for my people.  Tonight in fact, I’ve organized a family bowling night, how fun is that?!?

Below I’ve collected a few pictures of Valentines-y things around the house.  I favour pink in my colour scheme rather than red as you’ll see.  Some stuff is permanent, some just for today.  All of it reminds me of love.

I found this at London Drugs the other night: it's an old fashioned punch-out valentines day card book! I remember giving these to my classmates in elementary school.

My anniversary card from Jeff: it's been a month and it's still on the window sill to remind me that he loves me!

I got these heart lights at Target for $1, and they've been lighting my stove hole up for over a month. This morning though? They died. How ironical, right?

I made a little heart-shaped red velvet cake for my sweetheart today.
