If I could change anything about winter clothes, it would be the amount of black coats that get sold every year. Black coats, with black boots over your black pants and top….UGH. I love black as a base colour used sparingly, NOT as a lifestyle choice. Black used to be chic and set people apart way back when, but now it makes you look like every other person on the bus. And winter is dark enough without a sea of black to look at!
Enough ranting, here’s my solution: But a vintage coat. I sell some, yes, but that’s not why I think you should get one. You should get one because the shapes, fabrics and colours of coats from the 50s and 60s are about a zillion times more interesting and flattering than most things that are sold today. Here, let me show you what I mean:
Great shape, great colour, and bracelet sleeves! Yellow will brighten anyone’s day. Buy HERE.
This coat is velvet. VELVET! The comfort on this sucker is through the roof! Perfect for wearing with your LBD and slingback heels to a party or on a date, woot!
How cute! It’s swingy, citrusy, and fun! Buy HERE.
Perfect casual coat to wear with jeans and flats! Buy HERE.
Every girl needs a perfect leopard coat, and this one has perfect proportions for day or evening. Buy HERE.
So if you’re in the market for a new coat, consider going vintage this year. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised 🙂
Nuts! Here I thought I was so cool 😉 Ok, stepping out of comfort zone…going onto different websites…looking, looking, looking…will keep you posted!
You can do it Jen!
I have a bright red wool coat–thrift store, of course. I get so many compliments when I wear it and always feel pretty.
Red is a great colour for a coat! I bet you look amazing in it 🙂
