Friday DIY: Colourful Sneed Bouquet

These little balls aren’t sneeds exactly, I think sneeds are the things the guy in the Lorax makes with the trees, but you get the idea.  I came across these little balls of feathers a few years ago at Bouclair Home: they’re Christmas ornaments!  I loved the colours, and at the time was looking for a cool centerpiece for my table that wasn’t alive but lended the same feeling as a bouquet of flowers.  The first arrangement I made came out like this:

This is my kind of DIY because it’s easy and foolproof, and you don’t need much.

This year I was at the store just after Christmas and the balls were all on sale for 50 cents each!  I picked up a ton, and made a bouquet with some of them for my bedroom.  Here’s how:
Required: feather balls in your chosen colour combination, floral wire from the craft store, scissors.

I used a vintage vase I have with little rocks in the bottom to hold the wires.

Here’s what I did:

1. I chose to use 7 balls, so I left one wire full length, then cut 3 medium length and 3 shorter.

2. I cut all the loops off the balls: no more hanging them on the tree!

3. I pushed the wires through the foam inside the balls, then placed them in the rocks in the vase.

TA-DA!

I placed the vase above my headboard on my windowsill
