I’m dragging these Europe posts out to kind of prolong my sense of having just returned. It’s mostly working, too! On day 2 in Vienna Charlenn and I ended up dressing sort of the same, and that was to continue throughout most of the trip. It’s funny when you find a style doppelganger; it makes me have a lot of questions about style influence and how taste is made and the whole essence of creativity and the power of suggestion. Anyway, we wore maxi dresses 😉

I had to cut my head off, because the only picture we took my eyes were closed in this sort of weird mental patient way. We were probably in a hurry, because there’s just the one pic.
My version is all about colour, with neutral sandals and a black coral necklace. I got this maxi dress from Joe Fresh a few years ago and it’s been well worn ever since. The shape is a simple A-line, which compliments my curves nicely either belted or unbelted (if I belt it I use a smaller necklace or skip the necklace and wear big earrings), and pairing this blazer with it gave me a bit of structured coverage but was still comfortable and cool. I want to make more of these maxis because the shape is super simple to duplicate, but for some reason 90% of the maxi dresses I find are straight, which is not a good shape for many of us.
Charlenn went for the opposite in colour and shape. Her dress is more straight at the bottom but the faux crop top at the top keeps it interesting and more flattering than just clingy cotton all the way down. She went for a neutral dress with a pop of red in her sandals, which is a nice way to break up the black and white.
