I’ve known Chrissy for a few years, since we were both writers for an online magazine in the Fraser Valley. (Shout-out to Fraser Valley Pulse, woot!) We recently reconnected though, and I am so, so glad because whoa: she’s awesome!!! Chrissy is an amazingly talented makeup artist (connect with her and see some of her work HERE) and she has all kinds of adventures doing that. She also holds several jobs, is married, and still has time for a close group of girlfriends. Frankly you guys, Chrissy is a wizard. So when she wanted me to come and do a wardrobe analysis on her closet, I was thrilled! Here is my best effort at capturing the day’s events as they unfolded at casa de Chrissy…

Chrissy goes to the washroom to change into a dress she’s unsure about, and I seize the moment with a mirror selfie.

The dress in question: white lace perfection!!! I’d love to see it dressed down with a jean jacket and sandals for summer, black tights and a leather jacket for winter.

New outfit idea for this makeup pro: bright top with dark pants and cardi and brown boots. I’d love to see a beige/brown scarf to balance this look out.

What to wear with a heavy winter skirt? Tights and a close-fit sweater for winter, heels and a breezy blouse and jean jacket for Spring! Chrissy is trying to convince me to let her keep this brown sweater here…it doesn’t work 😉

We’ve got a vibrant green and brown leather jacket combo…A pink top and blingy necklace with black skinnies…a graphic blouse, cardi and blue jeans…and a denim top, mint jeans and BLING.
Here is Chrissy’s analysis:
Wardrobe Analysis: Chrissy Grant
Summary: Chrissy knows what she likes fashion-wise and has most of the components to look the way she’d like to everyday. Chrissy has a professional job that requires business casual attire, as well as a retail job where the uniform is all black, as well as a small business for which she requires comfort ad the ability to get dirty. Chrissy is adequately prepared for all of her roles, but desires an edgier, more put-together look. The main components for this look will be jackets (both leather and jean) and shoes (pointy toes, cool sandals, boots etc.) Looking more put-together will require some planning and completer pieces, such as scarves and jewelry. The buying priorities are boots, leather and jean jackets, skirts, and the rest as needed.

What Would Audrey Wear?
So what’s next? Chrissy and I will be blogging about how to find the perfect red lipstick, do the perfect cat eye, and how to choose the right foundation for your skin. We will also be exhibiting at the Fraser Valley wedding festival and her Fraser Valley Wedding Swap, as well as doing a workshop at Tracycakes next month, details to follow. I’m so excited about all of these events and the person I get to collaborate with: thank you, Chrissy!!!
If you ever are in Utah I would love to have something like this done…I would like to have more confidence and comfort in my clothes.
